It is a beautiful Saturday morning right now.My daughter and her friend are having fun playing in the toyroom upstairs after having a special pancake breakfast. I decided to make it a personalized one so I made the batter and poured it into a clean condiment bottle. That is super easy and a cheap way instead of me having to buy a pancake "pen".
I drew flowers, wrote their names and made a few red hearts which I got by using a couple drops of food coloring. How simple is that?

Tomatoes and more tomatoes
So it was another trip to the garden two days ago and hubby and I were able to scald, peel and juice these tomatoes for our freezer. There are so many tomatoes and lots more just rottening. We kept giving away and canning some.I do not know why this year, they seem to be busting open for some reason.
Home made vanilla ice cream without an ice cream maker
I made this yesterday and was so tickled at the result. I was reading a past issue of an All You magazine and saw this recipe for an easy peasy vanilla ice cream. All you need is 3 ingredients!
*2 cups heavy whipping cream
*1 can sweetened condensed milk
*1-1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (shh...I used 2 tablespoon imitation vanilla)
Method:
In an electric mixture, beat the ingredients together for about 5-7 minutes or until stiff peaks are formed. Pour in a loaf pan or any freezer safe container. Since I am a recycle nut, I used a clean plastic Domino sugar container...haha. Freeze for 8 hours and there you have it!!!! You can add your own ingredient like fruits, nuts etc but since I did not have those in hand,I just left mine plain. I am not lying when I say I really love this! (That was the fat side of me talking...lol)

Upcycle old dry erase board as a picture frame
I have a few puzzles under my bed because I just hate to break them apart.I so love doing them but because of time and space,I hardly ever do them. Today, I was in the mood to work on getting some organizing done and saw the poor puzzles gathering dust. I know what you are thinking...why is there dust? Actually,my vacuum cannot reach under the bed and the bed is extremely heavy to move. That sucks!
So anyway, I brushed off the dust collected on my puzzle which was already stuck on a piece of cardboard. I took an old dry erase board that was just good enough to chunk in the trash. The writings could not be erased. The dry erase paint was coming off. I covered the dry erase board with black cardstock paper by using Mod Podge. Then I use the Mod Podge again to paste onto the black paper and stuck my puzzle onto it. Finally, I gave a layer of Mod Podge to coat the puzzle.

Painting with glue
So,I am still working on my organizer from the upcycled baking pan which you can see here. I saw on Pinterest someone painted their candlestick with glue and wanted to try it to see if it works.
Here is what I used:
I poured a small bit of glue in a cup(see photo below on how much/little glue I used) and put a few drops of the coloring. Then I started to paint on it. It looked messy and uneven. There were some blobs forming on the candlestick so I had to keep touching up with the glue paint. We left and went to church and by the time I came back, it was too late to see the actual effect. The next morning when I woke up, I saw it really did work! The candlestick did have a see through painted look!
Now,please note that I have not wet it since but I am sure that this is for decorative use only since the "paint" may come off. Maybe some kind of sealer will hold the "paint".
And I am still working on this organizer and will be blogging in the near future about this project.

Organizer from an old baking pan
I hate to throw away stuff and maybe that is why I have so much junk around me.I always feel that there is a use for them.I have a round baking pan that was starting to show rust and wanted to upcycle it,so I took a used candlestick. You can get them at the dollar store or maybe at yardsales and flea markets.I was trying to figure out how to get rid of the rust and concluded that hey, maybe sandpaper would work.It did.
Next, I Mod Podged a picture onto the inside of the pan where I had smoothened with sandpaper. The only thing I did not like was there was a few ripples after Mod Podge-ing. I still have to get the hang of doing it right but you get the idea.
To glue the pan to the candlestick, I used Elmer's household cement. I will post more on the organizer as I work on it.
