Organizer from an old baking pan

I hate to throw away stuff and maybe that is why I have so much junk around me.I always feel that there is a use for them.I have a round baking pan that was starting to show rust and wanted to upcycle it,so I took a  used candlestick. You can get them at the dollar store or maybe at yardsales and flea markets.I was trying to figure out how to get rid of the rust and concluded that hey, maybe sandpaper would work.It did.

Next, I Mod Podged a picture onto the inside of the pan where I had smoothened with sandpaper. The only thing I did not like was there was a few ripples after Mod Podge-ing. I still have to get the hang of doing it right but you get the idea.
To glue the pan to the candlestick, I used Elmer's household cement. I will post more on the organizer as I work on it.

Organize your child's artwork and letters

My daughter loves to draw and sometimes, she makes these cute love letters or brings home some of her work from school.I hate to throw away these reminders of special moments so I went ahead and created a special organizer for the important ones.
I used a binder and page protectors and just slipped the work in. I even put one of her work (the heart shape) on the front of the binder which came with a plastic covering. I really like this idea because it becomes sort of like an album or scrapbook of memories and the page protector really helps.

A cute basket at a steal!

I am so happy to have found this basket at a yard sale for $1.00 ! I have never seen one like this before and plan to do something to embellish it- as soon as I can find the time!

My ladybug bag

As I was cleaning,I found my ladybug bag that I attempted.I used scrap ladybug pattern fabric, red check, red solid and traced a pattern of an actual bag that I had. With no directions, I started to sew this bag.It came out pretty well considering I am such a novice at sewing.I think I am just going to use the bag to store knick knacks in.

Oh I have to show you what my little one did.She created an Art Corner in her bookshelf and used a cutlery organizer to put her markers and colored pencils etc in.

What an awesome deal!

There is the annual miles long yardsale on Hwy 411 this week.We just stopped at two places today and the second place was really cool.Their prices were so much cheaper.I got me a brand new file folder organizer pocket chart. You know, the ones teachers use.It measures 37-1/2" wide by 40" tall with 27 pockets and name cards for dry erase.I grabbed it when the lady told me it was for $1.00! I wished she had more. When I came home,I googled it and saw it selling on sale at Amazon for $27.49!
